Week Two and Bear Beach

Well, we're at the end of week two and getting into the groove of school. Students are doing some formative assessment in Math, English and French, and we have jumped into Social Studies and Science. Band, Strings, Choir, Soccer and Cross Country Running are also on the go.

Entertainment Books should have come home today. Your family and neighbors can support our school by buying a book and getting great deals on restaurants, movies and more.

In Science this term we will be starting off working on the scientific process, safety, and working through some simple experiments. In French we will be practicing verbs, reading poems and short stories, writing descriptively and getting everyone talking in French again!

In Socials we will focus on social science skills: research skills, citing sources, organization, and the interplay between natural environments and culture. Hopefully you have received the Bear Beach camping trip package, and will be able to come to the meeting next Thursday, September 22nd at 6:30 pm in our class, room 306. It is the same night as Central's Open House, so you too can get a peek at the new building.

I would love to have you join us at Bear Beach, either to drive, to join us for part of the hike, or overnight. Please email and/or check off on the form if you can come along, as there is planning and paperwork to do. Forms are due at the meeting next Thursday.

I am truly enjoying getting to know the class, and look forward to meeting more of you next week. As always, please call or email if you have any questions, comments or concerns.
